未来の思い出――「Future Remembers」の私的解釈

X-Patriate は Alan J. Lipman が詩を書き、曲を作り、歌い、楽器を演奏している、いわば一人バンドだ。
Alan も変わっていて、本職はボストンで開業する精神科医だ。

今回は「Future Remembers」の歌詞を解釈。

まるで、ヌーベルバーク（Nouvelle Vague）映画のように斬新で難解な詩だ。

少年が、通りの店先でしだの葉の匂いを嗅いでいると、背後で銃声のような音がする。
信号が黄色に変わる。少年は未来を思い出す。

ハイウェイで車が壊れ、トラックを待っている未来の自分を。二人の子供がいて、半狂乱の妻がいて。

と言うようなストーリーを、私も「思い出した」。

ぎらぎらする信号の黄色い光。銃声。これはタイヤのパンクする音だろうか。雨に濡れた夜のハイウェイで、（生活に疲れた）男は弱りきっている。これが少年の未来。

Alan is a psychologist in Washington, DC.

This time, I translated lyrics of "Future Remembers."

This song seems novel just like as a movie of the Nouvelle Vague.

A boy, smelling shop fronds, heard the sound like a shot.
And then, the light turned into yellow, and he remembered his fututre.

In the future, his car was broken in the highway in New York, and he was waiting for the truck. He has two children and a wife who was mad.

Brighter yellow light. A shot, is the sound that a tire goes flat? On the highway in midnight, the man who is future of the boy doesn't know how to fix his life.

This song remind me of that story above.
